Prime Minister John Briceño has announced a series of new Cabinet appointments, which he will recommend to Her Excellency Governor-General Dame Froyla Tzalam, in accordance with sections 40 and 45 of the Constitution. The appointments include a mix of Ministers of Government, Ministers of State, and the Attorney General.
Key Cabinet Positions:
- Prime Minister Briceño will retain the portfolios of Finance, Investment and Economic Transformation, Civil Aviation, and E-Governance.
- Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde will continue overseeing Natural Resources, Petroleum, and Mining.
- Francis Fonseca will remain in charge of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture, and Immigration, with Marconi Leal Jr. as Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
- Jose Abelardo Mai will continue leading Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise, assisted by Alex Balona as Minister of State.
- Julius Espat will stay on as Minister of Infrastructure Development and Housing.
- Kareem Musa will maintain his role as Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries.
- Anthony Mahler will oversee Tourism, Youth, Sports, and Diaspora Relations, with Devin Daly as Minister of State for Youth and Sports.
- Kevin Bernard will continue as Minister of Health and Wellness.
- Orlando Habet will lead Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Solid Waste Management, with Ramiro Ramirez as Minister of State.
Additional Appointments:
- Michel Chebat has been appointed Minister of Public Utilities, Energy, and Logistics, supported by Gilroy Usher as Minister of State.
- Henry Charles Usher will oversee Public Service, Governance, and NEMO.
- Oscar Mira will take on the National Defence and Border Security portfolio.
- Oscar Requena goes to Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, assisted by Ramon Cervantes as Minister of State.
- Andre Perez will continue as Minister of the Blue Economy and Marine Conservation.
- Louis Zabaneh will lead Indigenous Constitution and Religious Affairs as well as Transport.
- Florencio Marin will manage Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government.
- Thea Ramirez has been appointed Minister of Human Development, Family Support, and Gender Affairs.
- Anthony Sylvester will serve as Attorney General.
Office of the Prime Minister:
- Dolores Balderamos Garcia and Rodwell Ferguson have been named Senior Minister of State and Minister of State, respectively.
- Osmond Martinez will serve as Minister of State for Economic Development.
Other Key Roles:
- Ambassador Stuart Leslie will continue as Cabinet Secretary and Chief of Staff.
