
This is the official calendar of all Public and Bank Holidays in Belize for the year 2022 as gazetted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. For 2022 we have the following line-up. Belize has fourteen holidays. In practice there are more. Easter in Belize for example is a four-day long holiday from Good Friday to Holy Monday. All the usual holidays are listed, and the latest addition of the George Price (Father of the Nation) Day in September and Emancipation Day (formerly Freedom Day) in August are there. Of note is that in October, Pan American Day (Columbus Day) which was removed in 2021 has been restored and rebranded as Indigenous People’s Resistance Day in 2022. Interestingly, Commonwealth Day (also known as Sovereign’s Day or Queen’s Birthday) has disappeared.
IT IS NOTIFIED for general information that public and bank holidays specified in the First and Second Schedules to Holidays Act, Chapter 289 of the Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2011, will be observed on the following days during the year 2022 in accordance with section 3 of the said Act:
