The United States Embassy in Belize via it’s official social media presence announced the arrival of Keith Gilges, the Embassy’s new Chargé d’affaires.
Mr. Gilges is a career Foreign Service Officer. Most recently, he was detailed to the National Security Council at the White House where he served as the Director for North America overseeing inter-agency policy development involving Canada and Mexico. Mr. Gilges is quoted as saying:
“I am excited to be in the ‘Jewel’ and am looking forward to getting to know the country and to meeting as many Belizeans as possible over the next three years.”
I will work to continue and deepen the already warm and productive relationship between the United States and Belize.”
Gilges’ professional profile includes service at the United States Department of State as well as former Deputy Chief of Mission in Trinidad and Tobago.
Gilges takes over from Chargé d’affaires, Adrienne Galanek who served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Belize since 2016.
