POLICY ON COMMERCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE BELIZE.COM WEBSITE
Introduction and Definitions
Belize.com Ltd. ("BELIZE.COM") have developed an Internet website to offer information services to tourists and the public and our members, facilitate e-business, and provide value-added services to members. Founded in 1995, our company was the first to launch a website dedicated exclusively to Belize. As owners of the exclusive geo-domain property, Belize.com our portal is the #1 ranked Belize Destination on the Internet.
BELIZE.COM will accept commercial support for the BELIZE.COM website in the form of either sponsorships or advertising.
For purposes of this policy:
- Sponsorship means the commercial entity provides support for the BELIZE.COM website and BELIZE.COM recognizes it for its contribution, but does not provide qualitative or promotional information about the Sponsor, or endorse the Sponsor's products. The Sponsor's logo may be used and the Sponsor's corporate, or educational sites may be linked to the BELIZE.COM site. The language acknowledging the Sponsor's contribution would be similar to "This [portion of the] BELIZE.COM website is funded in part by an educational grant from XYZ Corporation." "Links to XYZ Corporation's Web site do not constitute an endorsement by BELIZE.COM of XYZ's products.
- Advertising means the commercial entity purchases advertisements and/or name placement and/or logo placement on individual pages or whole sections of the BELIZE.COM website. These advertisements, names and/or logos will be linked to the Sponsor's corporate, or informational sites, as approved by BELIZE.COM. Links to XYZ Corporation's Web site do not constitute an endorsement by BELIZE.COM of XYZ's products.
General Policies Regarding Commercial Support
- Sponsorships of or advertisements on the BELIZE.COM website shall comply with the laws and regulations of the United States of America and Belize, the country and state in which BELIZE.COM is incorporated and based.
- Any commercial support for the BELIZE.COM website will be clearly identified, including the identities of the sponsors or advertisers that have contributed funding, services or materials for the site.
- BELIZE.COM retains the sole discretion in determining the types of sponsorships or advertisements that will be accepted and displayed on the BELIZE.COM website.
- BELIZE.COM reserves the right to reject or discontinue sponsorships or advertisements of any kind. BELIZE.COM's acceptance or actual use of a sponsorship or an advertisement shall not waive this right.
- The BELIZE.COM will not accept advertisements that, in the sole opinion of BELIZE.COM, make unsubstantiated claims of benefit for a particular product(s). The BELIZE.COM may require an advertiser to provide valid, reliable data to support any claims made in the advertisement.
- BELIZE.COM will not accept advertisements regarding pharmaceuticals, biomaterials or medical devices not cleared for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration in the United States without a statement regarding the product's current FDA clearance status for the particular use described.
- BELIZE.COM will not accept advertisements that include offers for multilevel marketing, pawn shops or pawn shop affiliated businesses, adult content, or spyware.
- The sponsorship of or an advertisement on the BELIZE.COM website shall not be considered an endorsement, either expressly or by implication, of the Sponsor or the product(s) advertised and the BELIZE.COM may include a disclaimer to indicate this fact.
- BELIZE.COM maintains a clear separation between sponsorship and advertisements on the one hand, and the editorial process and decision-making about the BELIZE.COM website on the other. Current or potential providers of commercial support may not influence the form or substance of editorial and content material appearing on the BELIZE.COM website.
- The BELIZE.COM website will present advertisements to visitors in a manner and context that will differentiate between the advertisements and the BELIZE.COM website's editorial and content material. The BELIZE.COM will tag "advertorials" as advertisements.
- BELIZE.COM will encourage sponsorships or publishing advertisements from all qualified commercial supporters.
- The sponsors or advertisers agree to indemnify and hold the BELIZE.COM, its employees, contractors and agents, harmless against any and all damages, claims, judgments, losses, costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees) that may be incurred, suffered, or sustained or imposed on the BELIZE.COM, its employees, contractors and agents, by reason of the sponsorship or advertisement.
- BELIZE.COM will consider for publication, within the appropriate editorial context, all public or member opinions regarding specific sponsorships or advertisements on the BELIZE.COM website as well as this Policy on Commercial Support for the BELIZE.COM Website.
- This Policy on Commercial Support for the BELIZE.COM Website will be displayed on the BELIZE.COM website.
Specific Policies Regarding Advertising
- Sponsorships and advertisements will be allowed in all sections of the BELIZE.COM website as listed above.
- BELIZE.COM will not accept "pop - up" advertisements, animated banners, or advertisements linking to "pop -up" pages.

US $250. per month for a banner 125 x 125 on the (first position) top left OR right side on the BELIZE.COM Home Page.
US $200. per month for a banner 125 x 125 on the second and subsequent positions on the left OR right side on the BELIZE.COM Home Page.
Banner Advertising Rates - Inside Pages - All
US $250. per month for a banner 125 x 125 on (first position) top left OR right side on the BELIZE.COM interior pages.
US $200. per month for a banner 125 x 125 on the second and subsequent positions on the left OR right side on the BELIZE.COM interior pages. .
Banner positions on a first come first served basis. Minimum One Year Contract.
